On Wednesday, October 1st, a fire burned down our entire grain operation – barn, tractor, grain cleaning and sorting equipment, and our entire stores of harvested grains, beans, and seeds. WE THEREFORE HAVE NO DRY GOODS TO OFFER AT THIS TIME. Grains, beans, and seeds were the bulk of our income, our sustenance in so many ways, and our contribution to a much-needed local food movement.

If you feel called:

  1. Please pray for us, send positive thoughts, light a candle, or whatever you do, as we figure out our next step.
  2. Become a part of our mutual web of support. It is the friends of our farm and family who catapulted into action in the aftermaths of the fire that make recovery feel doable. Any way in which you wish to be part of this community is welcome.
    • If you wish to get your hands dirty and help with clean up efforts, please contact us.
    • Some friends of our family and farm have spearheaded fundraising efforts to help you help us if you wish to contribute to our rebuilding efforts.

Our customers are as diverse as our products. Our online market serves all!

Everything that our family offers for sale was grown and processed here on our farm in Southern Maryland. We plant, tend and harvest our crops in fields, high tunnels, greenhouses and our orchard so that you can enjoy seasonal, local food year-round. We process and package the wide variety of grains, beans and seeds that we grow onsite at our farm where we also mill-to-order. By selling directly to the consumer, Next Step Produce encourages you to join us in sustaining a local community.

Our schedule is as follows: FRIDAYS 5 PM - Our online market opens for orders; MONDAYS 5 AM - Your deadline to submit orders; MONDAYS - We aggregate, harvest, mill and pack to order; TUESDAYS - Your orders are delivered or distributed for your pickup.
