Everything that our family offers for sale was grown and processed here on our farm in Southern Maryland. We plant, tend, and harvest our crops in fields, high tunnels, greenhouses, and our orchard so that you can enjoy seasonal, local food year-round. We process and package a wide variety of grains, beans, and seeds that we grow onsite at our farm, where we also mill-to-order. By selling directly to the consumer, Next Step Produce encourages you to join us in sustaining a local community.
*PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE IN THE MIDST OF UNUSUAL AND TRANSITIONING CIRCUMSTANCES. We suffered a fire in October 2025 that took out our grain operation. We are rebuilding and hope to have product available by November 2026. As of fall 2026, we are also putting a pause on vegetable production for the first time in 26 years. Our offerings are, therefore, very limited, with limited distribution points until the dry goods become available.
Our online market open hours are as follows:
Saturday 5 PM - Wednesday 5 am for Thursday distribution to the Prince Frederick location.
Saturday 5 PM - Friday 5 AM for Saturday distribution to on-farm (Newburg) and LaPlata locations.

We invite you to set up an online account if you are a baker, processor, chef, restaurateur, or reseller located locally. DUE TO FIRE LOSS, WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT MAKING DELIVERIES TO THE DC, BALTIMORE, AND ANNAPOLIS METROPOLITAN AREAS. We hope to resume operations by November 2026, at which point we will be making monthly deliveries from our farm in Charles County.

We offer locations in MD, VA, and DC where you can pick up your orders. On a more flexible basis, you can pick up your order directly at the farm in Newburg, MD. Below are the locations and pickup windows. Details about the pickup locations will be provided as you register with our online market.
